TOMS Winter Boot update: Providing Aid to Syrian Refugees

June 12th, 2014 by TOMS

Here on the blog we’ve shared that over 4 million children have been affected by the Syrian civil war, which is now well into its third year. It has driven hundreds of thousands of families from their home country, leaving them without access to basic services like healthcare and education. This leaves many of them unprepared for the cold winter months.

TOMS Giving Partners Save the Children and the U.S. Fund for UNICEF have been hard at work aiding children living in Iraq, Lebanon and the Za’atari Refugee Camp in Mafraq, Jordan. Za’atari is the fourth-most populous place in Jordan because of refugees fleeing Syria to escape the war. To help aid our partners in their relief efforts, TOMS has helped the organizations provide new Winter Boots to children living in the camp.

The boots are part of a larger, region-wide effort TOMS is undertaking with Giving Partners to help improve the lives of Syrian children in refugee camps and communities affected by the crisis.
